Overview

Removal of hydrocarbons, BTEX, H₂S, amine carryover, and heavy metals from gas plant condensate and amine regen wastewater.

02

Challenge

Gas processing plants produce water from gas dehydration, condensate separation, and amine gas sweetening operations. This water contains dissolved hydrocarbons, BTEX compounds, H₂S, amine carryover, and heavy metals that must be removed before disposal or reuse. Amine wastewater from amine regeneration requires specialized treatment to reduce COD and remove degradation products.

WFS Solution

WFS gas plant water treatment systems combine API gravity separation, thermal desorption for H₂S and BTEX stripping, advanced oxidation, biological treatment (for high-COD streams), and final polishing to produce water meeting disposal specifications. Amine recovery units can also be integrated to reclaim amine units and reduce chemical losses.

Technologies Applied

  • API Separator / TPI
  • Thermal H₂S Stripping
  • BTEX Air Stripping Tower
  • Advanced Oxidation (AOP)
  • Biological Treatment (MBR)
  • Activated Carbon Polishing
04

Outcomes

  • H₂S <0.1 mg/L
  • BTEX <0.1 mg/L for discharge
  • COD reduction >95%
  • Amine recovery >98% efficiency
