Overview

Mobile treatment at pig receivers — separates liquid hydrocarbons, removes solids/wax, treats aqueous phase to disposal spec.

02

Challenge

Pipeline pigging operations to clean internal pipe surfaces and recover product generate large volumes of highly contaminated wastewater: crude oil, wax, scale, corrosion products, biocides, and water. Pig receiver drain water must be treated before disposal, and solid pig waste must be managed separately from the liquid stream.

WFS Solution

WFS mobile pigging wastewater treatment units deploy to pig receiver stations to collect, separate, and treat pig receiver drain water. The treatment train separates liquid hydrocarbons (sent to slop recovery), removes suspended solids and wax, and treats the aqueous phase to disposal quality. Mobile skid deployment means the treatment arrives at the pig station, not the other way around.

Technologies Applied

  • Three-Phase Gravity Separation
  • Wax / Paraffin Removal
  • Induced Gas Flotation
  • Multimedia Filtration
  • Activated Carbon Polishing
  • Solids Dewatering
04

Outcomes

  • Oil recovery from pig receiver >95%
  • Treated water to disposal spec
  • Rapid mobilization — 24-hour deployment
  • Solids handling to <1% moisture content
