The WFS air stripper system is a complete VOC-removal train designed to strip BTEX, EDC, ammonia, naphthalenes, and other soluble hydrocarbons from produced water, flowback, and refinery process streams — and then polish the off-gas to meet stringent emissions limits. 

**Stage 1 — Vertical Air Stripper.** A cylindrical or rectangular packed tower (random or structured packing) or multiple tray with liquid contact with raising-air/gas model with a side-mounted forced-draft blower delivers countercurrent air contact. The tower has 2–6 internal chambers and stripping efficiencies above 99% on BTEX at typical air-to-water ratios of 30:1 to 100:1. Design flow range is 50–100 m³/hr per tower. the strippers are scalable to 500 m3/hr. Typically there is a bottom reservoir tank at the bottom of the stripper (not shown) which would collect the water flow from the trays or tower and pumped to the downstream treatment systems. 

**Stage 2 — Rectangular Scrubber Tank or cylindrical scrubber tank.** Off-gas from the stripper enters a rectangular scrubber with specially designed spray distributors, a chevron mist eliminator, and a recirculating scrubbing solution (caustic, oxidizer, or surfactant) tuned to the contaminant being captured.

**Stage 3 — GAC Polisher Series.** Scrubber exhaust passes through 2–4 cylindrical GAC vessels in series — typically 1,000–2,000 lb of vapor-phase activated carbon per vessel, providing 6–18 months between changeouts on typical VOC loads. Lead-lag-polish configuration ensures breakthrough on the lead vessel is detected before it reaches the discharge.

Air:Water Ratio
30:1 – 100:1 (customized for individual application, presence of other contaminants, concentration fluctuations, discharge concentration required, typical loading rate, and emulsion). The strippers are typically combined with solids removal as a pre-treatment to avoid plugging of the column and efficiency loss. 
GAC Capacity
Sized to handle the flow through stripper and the application's parameter. Polishers are typically CS steel vessels with internal coatings to protect from corrosion. The internals of the distributors are designed specifically to handle the vapor distribution and contact required between vapor and carbon media. Custom adsorption media are also available.
Stripper Tower
Cylindrical, 2–6 internal chambers. Custom designed for each application based on performance parameters. Strippers are configured by process the team after detailed engineering calculations. 
Packing
Option 1 - Random (Pall, Jaeger) or structured packing to enhance the vapor-liquid contact through the process stripper Option 2 - Multiple tray column to maintain the required vapor-liquid contact to remove the contaminants from the water.
